After 12 years as a public school teacher, comedian Orlando Baxter left the classroom and built a career he never imagined for himself: stand-up comedy. Live From South High blends stand-up and storytelling to tell the unlikely journey that took him from student, to teacher, to the comedy stage — and what it means to leave one version of your life behind and start another.

Orlando made his national television debut on Conan, has appeared on BET, performed at comedy festivals around the world and at TD Garden as part of Comics Come Home, and his Dry Bar Comedy special has been viewed more than five million times. Funny, personal, and relatable, Live From South High is a show about teaching, work, identity, taking risks, and starting over.

Orlando bet on himself and it paid off — so did we. Connecticut Magazine named Comix Roadhouse the state's Best Casino Casual Dining pick for 2026, and OpenTable diners voted it a 2026 Diners' Choice favorite — proof this is as much a destination as it is a stage.
